Career Services, George Brown College
Vision
To see every George Brown College graduate fulfill their life goals through
careers that fit their education, skills, and interests.
Mission
Our mission is to empower George Brown College students to achieve their
career aspirations. We do this by providing career development expertise,
resources, and services; leading the integration of career education into
the college experience; and facilitating our students’ connection
with employers and the broader community.
Goals
- Career Education Leadership
Provide leadership throughout the College in the area of career education
so that we can reach more students, deliver consistent services most
effectively, and integrate career development into the student experience.
- Develop and Deliver Outstanding Programs & Services
Create, deliver and strive for continuous improvement of career
development programming and services designed to meet the specific needs
of our students that are consistent with best practices in Canadian
post-secondary career services.
- Online Community
Develop a suite of online tools and resources to complement our in-person
activities and provide a 24/7 e-community hub for career development
at George Brown.
- Employer Relations
Proactively develop relationships with employers through professional
customer service, online job postings, effective recruiting activities
and by engaging them in the delivery of career services to our students.
- Staff Development and Performance
Build on the strengths of our staff through team-building, professional
development, and a performance management process that supports the
achievement of our strategic goals.
