Good News Announcement – Congratulations!!

Saturday November 12th, 2011, George Brown College competed in the Ontario Region second annual "Canadian Institute of Financial Planners Case Competition" held at Centennial College, Progress Campus. Our team represented the college well and secured a second place finish just behind the overall winner; Centennial College.

The team consisted of Ida Zongo, Prabir Kar and QiuYin Zhang.

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise)

SIFE Students In Free Enterprise – SIFE George Brown placed first at the Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) Central-Regional Exposition on March 8th.  Their “Solid Ground” presentation in the 2010 HSBC Financial Education Challenge earned them a place at the ACE National Exposition being held in Calgary, May 10, 11 & 12, 2010.  They will be competing against; College of the North Atlantic-St. John’s, Memorial University, Okanagan College, Thompson Rivers University, and Ryerson University.

SIFE George Brown was established in the 2006/2007 academic year (initially starting out as ACE George Brown) with the support of 17 members from a variety of programs including faculty advisor Mark Simpson. Since then, SIFE George Brown has been a highly active student group at George Brown College.  With commitment, enthusiasm and a passion for what we do, we’ve been able to make a difference within our community.
