2010 Dean’s
Lecture Series featuring David Mitrovica

On October 20, 2010 (6-8 pm), the Centre for
Business will feature Guest Speaker, David Mitrovica, in this year’s Dean’s Lecture Series. The topic is “Lifting
the Fog from Corporate Social Responsibility” which tackles the definition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and
includes examples of what companies are doing in Peru and the Netherlands.

Centre for Business students
compete to determine who would represent George Brown College at the provincial qualifying round for the Ontario Heads of Business Case Competition.
The students’ task was to develop and present an Integrated Marketing Communications Plan, highlighting recommendations on how to increase student enrollment in business programs at Ontario’s
colleges.

Centre for Business has arranged a number of exciting
seminars and career info sessions for the students. Speakers
from the industry are invited to present the latest developments
and trends as well as the career opportunities in each

George
Brown College OCMC team victorious in Ottawa during the annual OCMC
competition
This year (2006) George Brown College's team (all
current marketing students in Centre for Business)
made the college's best showing in the last 10 years
and possibly ever. Out of 16 schools the team placed
fourth (just 3 points out of third). Seneca, Sheridan
and Conestoga took home the top prizes. In total George
Brown College team racked up 5 medals.
In November 2005, former and current students and administrators in
the George Brown College School of Business and Centre for Financial
Services Education attended the Canada Strong and Free event hosted
