The Culinary Studio is now The Food Innovation Studio

George Brown College’s Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts is proud to announce the launch of The Food Innovation Studio (formerly known as The Culinary Studio.) The facility, which has earned a solid reputation in the foodservice industry, will continue to provide our partners with the same excellent service focused on applied research and innovation.

Building on George Brown’s record of innovation, industry engagement, product development, education and service excellence in the food sector, the mandate of The Food Innovation Studio remains concentrated on providing food product and culinary technical support and business innovation services.

George Brown students are directly involved in these research initiatives in order to help food industry partners solve real-time, real-life challenges, including “concept to commercialization.”  Examples of these projects include healthy recipe development, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) compliant ingredient and nutritional labeling, and food product development.  Student involvement in these research projects reinforces the College’s mission to be Canada’s premier provider of quality applied education, enabling our students to succeed in their career and life goals.

While primarily providing service to the Greater Toronto (GTA) food industry, The Food Innovation Studio also offers a state-of-the-art private function room ideal for interactive cooking demonstrations, corporate meetings, media events, and product launches.

Great work
to all involved especially as I know our students had been training for months. It has been expressed by the competition organizers that the camaraderie amongst colleges was evident throughout the competition as coaches from various schools pitched in to help competitors who were needing extra support. Thank you to all for representing us with such excellence.
