The city of Toronto is home to over 100 dance companies, where in any given month there are about 75 productions being staged. Come to George Brown College for your advanced dance training in a range of programs that include ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop and musical theatre.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS 2004-2005

Jessica Fallis - P102, Danced with the Canadian National Tap Dance Team in Riesa Germany where they won the gold medal. Jessica is also a member of the Toronto Rock Dance Team and the coach and choreographer of the Little Miss Rock Dance Team.

Kristy Redshaw - P102, Is a member of the Toronto Argonauts Blue Thunder dance team

Nicole Meneses - P102, Acted as Rehearsal Assistant for the Ballet J örgen Canada Mississauga Nutcracker Youth Cast.

Kellie Nuovo – P102, is a member of Combustion Youth Company and will be performing in the Dance Ontario Weekend

Carly Sommerville – P102 and Veronica Smyth – P101, will be dancing with the band 5hr4pn31 in Barrie and Toronto

George Brown Dance Student Performance Ensemble

The George Brown Dance Student Performance Ensemble, made up of eight dance students from both certificate and diploma programs, performs at Toronto-area high schools and community festivals showcasing ballet, modern and jazz. The ensemble's last performance of season will be at the George Brown Dance Spring Graduation Showcase, April 14 and 15, 2004.


Dance Students Win Awards

Congratulations to Kristy Best, a student in the Dance Performance Foundations program, for winning an individual silver medal and a group gold medal as a member of the Canadian National Tap Team in the International Tap Dance Competition in Riesa, Germany.

Dance Performance Foundations student Angela Adams is the recipient of this year's George Brown Dance Achievement Award.
