George Brown College’s Awards program recognizes excellence and assists students with the costs of their education through non-repayable scholarships, awards, and bursaries.

George Brown College is pleased to present the GBC Awards Online Application system! GBC Awards will allow you to identify awards, scholarships and bursaries you may be eligible for, apply on-line, and track the status of your application.
Applying for Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries in GBC Awards is a multi-step procedure. You can download Guidelines Here that may assist you in navigatiUng the online profile and application and answer some Frequently Asked Questions. Please note that while the profile will take 30 to 45 minutes, you can apply for individual awards quickly and easily. It is strongly recommended that you use Internet Explorer browser.
New Users: Please do not use “@” sign in your username.
Forgot your GBC Awards Password or Username? Use the "Forgot My Password" option as follows, if you do not remember your log-in information.
- Click on "Forgot My Password" on GBC Awards, a pop-up message will appear.
- Enter your GBC Student Number OR GBC Awards username and press "submit"
- An email containing a temporary password and your username will be automatically emailed to the email address provided by you in your GBC Awards profile.

For students commencing study in September 2012, this scholarship awards high performing students with a record of outstanding academic and personal achievements, choosing to pursue their career goals by studying at George Brown College.
Value: $4,000

Definitions
Scholarships: Primarily recognize and reward general academic excellence, although extracurricular activities, community involvement, and financial need may also be considered.
Awards: Recognize specific academic achievements and/or other particular accomplishments.
Bursaries: Primarily awarded based on financial need, although academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and community involvement may all be considered.
Departmental awards are available to George Brown College students based on their program.
College-Wide awards are not program specific, although they may differentiate eligibility based on other factors (ie. demographics). College-wide awards are available only to George Brown College students.
External awards are available to students beyond George Brown College (ie., provincially or nationally), and are provided and administered through external government, corporate, or community organizations.
Entrance awards reward accomplishments prior to commencing studies at George Brown College, and are normally allocated to tuition and related fees after acceptance of admission.
In-Course awards reward achievements while studying at George Brown College.
Important Information
Awards are considered part of a student’s taxable income for the year. The college will issue T4A forms to all recipients in the spring of the year following the year in which the award was paid.
Scholarships, awards, and bursaries listed are subject to change without prior notice, and are subject to conditions as may be set down by the college and/or the donor of the award.
