Registration for these workshops is now closed.

Strategies for Effective Learning: Learning Styles, Memory, Study Tips — Tuesday, August 24 Discover your learning style preferences and how to lead with your strengths; explore critical thinking and practice strategies to increase your understanding and mastery of course material.

Succeeding as a Mature Student: Issues and Strategies — Wednesday, August 25 Have you been out of school for a year, two years, ten years or longer? Discuss and explore how to address specific issues around returning to school. Find out how to build support networks and share strategies for success.

Effective Presentations and Essay Writing — Thursday, August 26 If your worst nightmare is speaking in front of a group or you have some experience and want to learn some new strategies, this practical approach to planning and delivering presentations is for you. You can learn to write better essays. We will introduce you to techniques and share resources for writing more effectively.

The George Brown Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA) Committee promotes access for students and staff with a disability or who are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing. The Committee does this by identifying current accessibility barriers and making plans to remove these barriers. You can help by completing the ODA online survey and providing the committee with your feedback.

The survey is available in alternate formats (Braille, large print, on CD, electronic text) and can also be completed in person, in ASL, by phone, TTY or email. To request the survey in alternate format please contact:

The Enhanced Accessibility Library Services Project is looking for staff and students who have a disability or are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing and use their campus Library Learning Commons (LLC) to participate in an anonymous survey.

Our goal is to learn how the Library Learning Commons can better meet the accessibility needs of library users with disabilities or are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing.

The first 100 to complete the survey will be eligible for a Tim Horton’s gift certificate upon request to the project coordinator. The survey will be available until February 28, 2010.
