The Winter Student Leadership Academy is…
- A new pilot open to all First year students (September 2011 or January 2012 start)
- An all-expense* paid, overnight leadership training seminar during intercession week in February 2012.
*(all expense includes accommodations, meals & transportation)
- A great way to get involved and have fun with other George Brown College students & staff!

The Student Leadership Academy will have…
- Indoor and Outdoor team building activities including high and low ropes, strengths finder activities
- Motivational GBC and Cedar Glen facilitators
- Fun activities, workshops and so much more!!
We are looking for eager 1st year students who want to get involved in the GBC community and train as leaders at the 1st ever GBC WINTER Student Leadership Academy, taking place during intercession week February 2012.
After the Academy, students return to campus to complete a group assignment.
At the successful completion of the Academy, each Student Leader receives a certificate of completion for graduates of the Academy. There is also an opportunity for paid employment and the opportunity to lead one of the groups at the Summer SLA! This is a perfect opportunity to beef up your resume and get ahead of the pack; and get references from George Brown College.
Applications are open to all 1st year full time students at GBC who are currently attending classes.
QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for exceptional GBC students!!!

Must be a 1st Year Student.
They must:
- Demonstrate respect for all individuals & the environment
- Display a willingness to help others
- Have a GPA of 2.75
- Have attended one of our information sessions hosted by the SLA Team
- Have volunteered at least 1 Orientation or Student Life Event
